And it's like... meditation, when you truly love a book you're no longer reading it, but actively living it.
The other thing I feel about reading is that a book doesn't have to be "good" to be your favourite. For example, I've read a lot of great books, well written, well rated, very well rounded books that have made me a better person by sharing experiences that I might never have thought about before.... but my favourite book of all time is a Stephen King novel. It doesn't offer anything, really... but I've read it a hundred and 50 times at least, and it's just one of those things. I use it to defrag. No matter what is happening in my life, the words on those pages will never change. They will always be there for me.

It's nice to hear that people still feel this way about books.LindsayDiannehttp://runningscaredphotography.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6482254964807772294.post-26788995236419350322009-10-27T13:17:40.000-05:002009-10-27T13:17:40.000-05:00I know how you feel, books are at the center of ou...I know how you feel, books are at the center of our house, literally and figuratively, the room at the center, the heart is a library and books just spread out from there, all three members of our household are committed bibliophiles. I am always curious about what others are reading.
lovely blog, I have enjoyed reading.Bookpusherhttp://thegenteelarsenal.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6482254964807772294.post-33692962423789762332009-10-27T15:33:28.000-05:002009-10-27T15:33:28.000-05:00BookPusherThank you for the compliment. The world can take your possessions, your livelihood, but a book once read is with you forever and can never be taken from you. Cheesy, I know ... but books have never let me down when the outside world has.Crystalnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6482254964807772294.post-3774521542911325292009-10-27T15:40:10.000-05:002009-10-27T15:40:10.000-05:00LindsayDianneSo sorry for the delay is replying to...LindsayDianne

So sorry for the delay is replying to your comment. I get lost in my books too. I take on the role of the main character and cry when they cry, laugh when they laugh. I know it's odd to some, but a good book is easy to get caught up in. I find that reading eases my mind when I'm stressed. Well ... that and a glass of wine.Crystalnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6482254964807772294.post-14978367968823464002009-12-13T02:56:12.000-06:002009-12-13T02:56:12.000-06:00Hello Crystal – I’m an author and a fellow Bookblo...Hello Crystal – I’m an author and a fellow Bookblogs member and I have an invitation for you.
