Day Five! The number five reminds me of a cute little song that the kids and I used to sing together. Hearing it makes me smile. :)

365 WDays to Improve My Life
In my post Finish What You Start I stated a difficult realization. I haven't spent an entire 365 days devoted to any hobby or interest that I've had. For some reason it is hard for me to complete things that I start. I have the best of intentions when I begin a new project or delve into a new hobby, but we all know what they say about good intentions and where that paved road leads us. After much thought and talking it over with my sister-in-law Marie, I have decided on a 365 Project.

Although he has not always been a favorite of mine, as far as comedians or actors go, I must admit I like how he thinks. I read a message by George Carlin and was taken aback as his points hit home. I felt the need to share. Enjoy ...

As a general rule I usually refrain from doing book reviews. It's not that I don't like to share my opinion about a book, but it is just that ... my opinion. I would hate to give my thoughts on a book, a plot or an author's writing style, only to sway someone from picking up the same book. A book that, had it not been for my one-sided view, could hold a storyline or characters that they absolutely love. So, instead of giving my personal take on this book I thought I would share the blurb and link so you can judge for yourself.
I will however say that I tend to read dramas, thrillers, chillers, and mysteries but this "feel-good" story full of true to life characters caught my attention. Wouldn't the phrase, "I just bought us a B&B on eBay!" peak your curiosity?

First loves, first jobs, first anything ... are usually the sweetest. I enjoy sharing in my kids "firsts". The girls came to me with their first kisses and we laughed and cried about it. Today I was thrilled to be a part of one of my son's firsts.

I have been writing stories and poems off and on since I was old enough to put pen to paper. Recently I was reminded of a poem I had written for my mother several years ago. I thought I would share it.

Airplanes Aren't Shooting Stars.

How many times have we all wished on a shooting star or made a wish before we blew out our birthday candles? That's what I think of every time I hear "Airplanes" by B.o.B, ft. Hayley Williams of Paramore . What things would I wish for if I had a chance? Well, that's another post.

I found a quiz online that poked a stick at my curiousity. I love reading, but more than that I love writing. Add those two things to this witty quiz intro created by shrike and tell me that you could walk away without answering a few simple questions.
There comes a time in every person's life where they come to figure out just who they are, what they want in life, and who they want to be with for the rest of that life, pathetic as it may be. Sadly, friends, today is not that day; Today, you must take my quiz to better hone your abilities as a writer and see where your strong points lie. Who knows? You may be a different writer than you thought you were...
